As the summer of 2018 begins, EMH&T welcomes a new group of summer interns. This year’s group is one of the largest ever and represents several top schools, including OSU, University of Cincinnati, Miami University, and others. The interns will spend the summer gaining hands-on experience working in the firm’s many divisions, including survey and GIS!

The Spring Issue of Ingenium is Here!
On April 23, 2018, the Ohio EPA officially adopted the fifth revision of the state’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater permit, which regulates the discharge of stormwater from the development of land that disturbs an acre or more. The spring issue of EMH&T’s Ingenium magazine takes a look at these changes and how they will impact developers and local governments.
Sandy Doyle-Ahern to Speak at 2018 Smart Women Awards
Following on the heels of her recognition last year as a Smart Business Columbus Progressive Woman honoree, EMH&T President Sandy Doyle-Ahern will serve as a one of four panelists at this year’s Smart Women Awards and Program to be held April 17th at the Hilton Columbus at Easton. The panelists will examine what it means to be an authentic leader dedicated to building and fostering a strong culture for women in the workplace. The event will also recognize this year’s Smart Women Award winners.

EMH&T’s Shawn Arden to Present at Joint WMAO-EPN Program
EMH&T’s Shawn Arden, PE, CFM, will present “Local Perspective on Flooding and Flood Risk Reduction” at the March 6, 2018 meeting of the Water Management Association of Ohio (WMAO) in conjunction with the Environmental Professionals Network (EPN), a service of the OSU School of Environment and Natural Resources.

EMH&T Hosts Students as “Engineers for a Day”
In conjunction with Engineers Week 2018, today EMH&T hosted several Columbus-area high school students for a day of learning and experiencing a day in the life of a civil engineer. The students, most of whom have already decided to pursue an engineering career, learned about the services provided by EMH&T and got insight into 21st Century civil engineering design. They also toured the office, enjoyed a lunchtime Q&A session with some of the firm’s younger staff, and spent the afternoon shadowing several EMH&T professionals while they met with clients and worked on projects.
