EMH&T recently wrapped up on our summer internship program wishing these eight bright and motivated students the best, as they hit the books again to continue their course of study. The Indiana State Fair is currently in full swing and celebrating Indiana’s Bicentennial through August 21, 2016. Once the fun is done and the visitors leave, EMH&T will be assisting the Schmidt Associates team with a Facility Assessment and Master Plan for the fairgrounds. Our team will work closely with the Indiana State Fair Commission, whose mission it is to “preserve and enhance the Indiana State Fairgrounds and the annual Indiana State Fair for the benefit of all citizens of Indiana.” We are very excited to help them execute this mission through a thoughtful and strategic thinking for both short and long term goals.

EMH&T’s Brian Brown, PE, CFM Indiana Director of Water Resources, will present at next week’s Indiana Water Environment Association Annual Conference. Being held at the Westin Indianapolis Hotel on August 17-19, the conference theme for 2016 is “Know the Worth of Water” and EMH&T is proud to be a Silver Sponsor of this year’s event.

Precision and accuracy are of paramount importance when it comes to the science and art of surveying. At EMH&T, our professional surveyors and survey crews use state-of-the-art technology and equipment, including Windows Mobile data collectors, conventional, servo and robotic instruments, and geodetic GPS receivers (including real-time Kinematic surveying). All this technology helps our staff provide survey results with a high level of accuracy.

EMH&T places a strong focus on developing the kind of workplace that fosters empowerment, creativity, and professionalism. One means to that end is EMH&T University. These immersion development programs are internally developed by the leadership of each of the company’s service areas in conjunction with Human Resources.

Progress continues on the Murphy Parkway Extension project in Powell. The extension of the existing Murphy Parkway from its current no outlet terminus to Liberty Street south of downtown will serve as a downtown Powell bypass, eliminating traffic congestion at the four corners intersection and improving traffic flow along Olentangy and Liberty streets.

In just a few weeks, rail professionals from around the country will gather for the 2016 American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Conference.
