The Association of Floodplain Managers’ annual Floodplain Management Conference is underway at the Huntington Convention Center in beautiful downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The conference is the premier event for floodplain managers from around the world. This year’s theme is “Flood Fest 2019: The Mitigation and Resilience Tour” and features a range of subject matter experts from diverse fields presenting on the topic, including EMH&T’s Miles Hebert, PE, LEED Green Associate, CFM and Shawn Arden, PE, CFM.
On Tuesday, May 21, Miles will present a case study titled “West Water Run Stream Restoration and Flood Mitigation Project” as part of a discussion focused on local stream restoration projects. On Thursday, May 23, Shawn Arden, PE, CFM will participate in a session on complex levee projects by presenting “The Cannon Drive Levee: Flood Protection at The Ohio State University.
