EMH&T congratulates CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. (CSXIT) on their Gold Level recognition by the Ohio EPA Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) program. The E3 program recognizes organizations for exceptional achievements in environmental stewardship. The CSXIT Northwest Ohio Intermodal Terminal in North Baltimore, OH was recognized for operating technologies of green design including ultra-efficient wide-span electric cranes that lower emissions, optical scanners that reduce truck idling times, technologies which automatically track railcars, and remote switches that increase operational efficiency.
EMH&T provided CSXIT with a range of services on this project, including the initial site design and layout for the terminal, design of 26 miles of railroad track including a 7 mile siding, process tracks, storage tracks and wye tracks, as well as design assistance with the electric wide-span cranes. The project was previously recognized by the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) with its William W. Hay Award for Engineering Excellence and by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Ohio with a 2012 Engineering Excellence Outstanding Achievement Award.
There’s an easy way to see how we can help. Let’s talk about it.
