Welcome to National Engineer’s Week! This event is celebrated annually for a full week in February. Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, National Engineers Week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
According to the National Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers Week is supported by a national coalition of more than 70 engineering, education, and cultural societies, and more than 50 corporations and government agencies. The week is dedicated to raising public awareness of engineers’ positive contributions to the quality of life. This week also promotes recognition among parents, teachers, and students of the importance of a technical education and a high level of math, science and technology literacy with the goal of motivating our youth to pursue engineering careers in order to become part of a diverse and vigorous engineering workforce.
So if you are an engineer or work in a technology field, take pride in your profession and the positive contributions you make to our quality of life. And if you are not an engineer, then take just a moment to reflect on and appreciate everything that engineers do to make our daily lives more pleasant, comfortable, and convenient!
There’s an easy way to see how we can help. Let’s talk about it.
