Dublin Road 0.5MG Water Storage Tank
EMH&T provided both preliminary engineering and final design for a new 0.5 million gallon (MG) spheroid water storage tank. EMH&T worked closely with the City of Dublin engineering staff to evaluate alternative sites for the tank. Analysis of the possible sites included researching system performance, water main improvements, pressure boundary modifications, and project costs. Close coordination with the City of Columbus was critical because the operation (fill/drain cycle) of the tank is controlled by Columbus’ Division of Water (DOW), and efforts to ensure the recommended tank improvements would not negatively impact Columbus’ operation procedures were taken. Upon completion of the preliminary efforts, EMH&T completed the detailed design of the tank and site including the incorporation of a mixing system and required SCADA components.
