Hamilton Parker Building Demolition and Parking Lot
EMH&T worked with the Hamilton Parker Company to design the demolition of a failing building and transform the site into a parking lot. After completing a preliminary evaluation of the demolition of the existing building, our engineers determined the structure could be removed and a new lot would be constructed on the existing concrete pad to limit the amount of earth-disturbed areas. Our preliminary evaluations provided for a unique design that made the project exempt from additional stormwater controls such as new storm sewer, water quality and stormwater detention. Our engineers prepare the final construction drawings to salvage and transform the concrete pad into a new parking lot in a high volume area. Approximately $500,000 in savings resulted from reusing the existing building pad with the desired result of a brand new parking lot.
