Campus Partners 15th & High Redevelopment
Columbus, OH
Redevelopment efforts adjacent to the OSU Campus area continue with the revitalization of a nine-acre swath of land around the intersection of 15th Avenue and North High Street. Key to the makeover will be a realignment of 15th Avenue for a clear sight line facing west toward Thompson Library from a new public plaza at the intersection and a more complete pedestrian connection. Proposed new development within the area includes four- or five-story office buildings with street-level retail and restaurants, a 150-room hotel, 500-space parking garage and a more pedestrian-friendly environment anchored by the new plaza at the northeast corner of High and 15th.
EMH&T is providing site/civil engineering services for detailed design of the infrastructure and right-of-way improvements associated with the development of this new urban neighborhood. This encompasses an estimated $30 million in work to improve infrastructure along High Street, including burying utility lines; building new storm sewers; widening Pearl Street, resurfacing; landscaping, lighting; and reconnecting 14th and 16th avenues to High.
