West Main Street (State Route 41) Signal Upgrades

Troy, OH

This traffic signal project reduced congestion and crashes on West Main Street, a busy retail and commuter corridor in Troy, OH, that includes an interchange with I-75, several busy side streets, and commercial access points. EMH&T designed traffic signal upgrades including communication links between signalized intersections and a new centralized computer monitoring station located at Troy’s City Hall. Our work involved seven intersections along West Main Street where we designed updated control technology, a multijurisdictional system interface linking Troy and ODOT signals, new equipment, system detection, and upgrades to software to improve efficiency and functionality. According to Debbie Swan, Troy City Engineer, “I appreciated EMH&T taking charge of this project to get it done. It went great!”
