Town and Rich Streets Road Diet
EMH&T provided traffic planning and design for the conversion of two urban streets from one-way to two-way flow. This was a significant follow-up to the City of Columbus’ Franklinton Community Mobility Plan for which EMH&T led community involvement, analysis and development of a long-term walkability and transportation plan for the area. For the two-way conversion project, EMH&T again participated in extensive public involvement and provided capacity analysis, typical section alternatives and recommendations, safety analyses, and signal warrant studies. Our recommendations provided for two-way flow, bike lanes, sharrows, and improved parking on the street and turn lanes where needed. We supported a design team with maintenance of traffic during construction and transition to two-way flow, photometric analysis and lighting design, and coordination with streetscape improvements.
