Morse Road Safety Study
Due to recurring congestion issues and crash history on Morse Road near the I-270 interchange, the City of Columbus initiated an engineering study to assess the safety-related characteristics of this critical corridor that serves approximately 50,000 vehicles per day. Utilizing the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Safety Study guidelines, EMH&T provided an analysis of corridor- and intersection-specific safety performance for Morse Road from east of Stelzer Road to Cherry Bottom Road. Our team identified strategies and countermeasures to improve locations with high crash trends and worked with the City and area stakeholders to develop an action plan based on the study’s findings. The study also served as a basis for a Safety Funding Application.
