Interstate 75 High Mast Lighting
EMH&T’s engineers are designing improvements at two interchanges and 3.5 miles of interstate including the high mast lighting for the entire project area. The goal of the utilitarian high mast lighting is to provide uniform lighting across the interstate, while greatly reducing the number of poles needing to be sited along the corridor. Typically, to achieve required lighting intensity and uniformity, interchanges are fitted with high mast lighting, while corridors typically utilize median-mounted medium mast lighting. EMH&T engineers have designed a complex and appropriate mix of luminaire types for this stretch of Interstate 75. In addition, our engineers are working with ODOT on similar projects, implementing the use of LED luminaires, as most jurisdictions nationwide move to LED versus the typical high pressure sodium luminaires.
