Cleveland Avenue and Shrock Road Safety Study and Interchange Modification Study
The City of Westerville engaged EMH&T to study longstanding safety and congestion issues at the Cleveland Avenue and Schrock Road intersection. EMH&T prepared a safety study and interchange modification study, which recommended countermeasures including over 6,000 feet of roadway improvements. The study also recommended additional through lanes and turn lanes, access management, and traffic signal upgrades. A “complete streets” policy was proposed for the project including bike lanes, multi-use-paths, and sidewalk upgrades to provide increased mobility for all users. EMH&T partnered with the City of Westerville to gather support for this multi-jurisdictional project from various stakeholders. Based on feedback and support from the various agencies, EMH&T developed a funding strategy for the project including state safety funds, and regional funding sources.
