Cheshire Road Improvements
EMH&T was hired to perform survey, preliminary engineering, and detailed design for the widening of Cheshire Road located near the entrance of a residential subdivision in a growing portion of Delaware County, Ohio. The improvements are comprised of 3,500-feet of pavement including a modern roundabout intersection providing safe access to the Communities at Glenross. The scope of services included the addition of turn lanes, asphalt pavement, curb, storm sewer, roadside ditch modifications, asphalt path, curb ramps, relocation of water main, lighting and traffic control devices, as well as coordination with the local utilities. Specific efforts included coordination with CSX regarding the existing railroad track within the project boundaries. The roundabout is unique, designed to provide an urban appearance while providing rural functionality for local farmers to navigate the facility with large farm equipment.
