Seymour Avenue Bridge over I-75

Cincinnati, OH

EMH&T designed the replacement of the Seymour Avenue Bridge over I-75 that had unique substructure challenges. The section of I-75 beneath the bridge was to be widened and lowered by a substantial future corridor reconstruction project. This required construction of new abutment foundations approximately 17 to 20 feet lower than existing. Extensive complex tie-back shoring was designed to allow for the confined excavation and deepened construction. Once completed, the face of the substructure units were backfilled for the interim condition between projects. (HAM-4/561-2.66/7.01, PID 89835)
