Wright State University Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration Building
As part of Perkins + Will’s design team, EMH&T’s engineers brought their wealth of site design experience in cutting edge medical and higher education science facilities to Wright State University’s new $27.2 million Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration Building. As the name suggests, this facility will house a new neuroscience and engineering research facility that will total approximately 85,800 sf. The NEC building’s proposed location is within the biomedical and engineering research corridor of Wright State University’s Dayton Campus. A secure-access tunnel system will connect the NEC building to the Laboratory Animal Resource facility in the basement of an adjacent building.
Our engineers provided design for utilities, drainage and stormwater management for the new project site. Having already worked on Wright State University’s campus, our experts are knowledgeable of campus design requirements and will adhere to them throughout the life of the project. We also led the relocation of a significant utility corridor in order to facilitate the building footprint. The building program, as with the entire WSU campus, called for a heavy emphasis on ADA design. EMH&T’s professionals are skilled in preparing ramp and entryway design based on ADA guidelines and worked with the project team to ensure all entrances are accessible.
