Purdue’s $54 million Flex Lab is located adjacent to the existing Birck Nanotechnology Center and Discovery Learning Center as part of Purdue Move initiative to provide world-changing research and transformative education. The 60,000-square-foot facility helps boost industry- and government-funded research collaborations and intellectual property development. Designed to adapt to the creative and innovative needs of professors and their students, Flex Lab houses wet-lab, dry-lab, and open collaboration spaces that support many disciplines. The facility incorporates a range of LEED sustainable design solutions.
EMH&T provided site/civil engineering and landscape architecture professional services for this new facility including master planning for Phase II of the project, demolition design and construction phasing, site plan design and layout, pedestrian and vehicular maintenance of traffic, grading to enhance the architecture, sustainable water quality treatment, erosion control, landscape design, technical specifications, jurisdictional approval, bid packages, and construction administration.
