OSU Wexner Medical Center Kingsdale CarePoint Clinic
Upper Arlington, OH
With a significant percentage of both university health plan members and OSU employees living in the Upper Arlington area, OSU Wexner Medical Center is focusing on development within this inner-ring suburb of Columbus. OSU is building its fourth CarePoint multispecialty clinic on an empty lot within Upper Arlington’s Kingsdale Shopping Center. At a cost of $22 million, the 100,000 sq. ft., 5-story medical office building will consolidate services provided by OSU physicians at other locations within Upper Arlington and will bring a wide range of additional specialties and services to the area.
EMH&T worked closely with the OSU Wexner Medical Center as well as the project’s designer, Andrews Architects, to provide professional survey and civil/site engineering services including creation of an existing site base plan, development of the site plan and schematic drainage/grading plan (including preliminary stormwater control features), cost estimating, site utility plan, and erosion and sediment control plan. EMH&T’s professionals also worked in concert with the developer and the City of Upper Arlington to develop a site plan that was consistent with the existing sites in and surrounding this urban area. EMH&T’s stormwater management and planning was designed to meet the City’s requirements for this area and includes a 4,500 +/-sf. ft. area of pervious paver parking lot, representing one of the first such applications of this green infrastructure element in the Upper Arlington area.
