Nationwide Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center
EMH&T led the effort on design of the new $158 million, nine-story NCH Behavioral Health Center by extending the west campus site design into its next phase. When completed in 2019, this 386,000 square foot facility will include inpatient and outpatient care, as well as research and education components. Separate inpatient wings will be provided for children, teens, and the developmentally disabled, while outpatient programs will include crisis clinic, mood and anxiety disorders, family-based treatment, general psychiatry, and partial hospitalization day programs for eating disorders. A second parking garage is also part of the project.
Working with NBBJ Architects of Columbus and Architecture-Plus of Troy, New York, EMH&T provided field survey, utility survey, and site/civil design for the building, which will be the largest pediatric psychiatric hospital in the U.S., and the garage.
