Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital Campus
Grove City, OH
EMH&T provided civil/site design and utility engineering on 20 acres for a new standalone ambulatory care facility for the Mount Carmel Health System in Grove City, Ohio. EMH&T provided comprehensive site design; roadway, parking, and utility plans on the former 115-acre vacated public golf course. The medical outpatient facility is 36,775 sf to provide the community emergency services, imaging, and lab space in southwest Columbus. In addition, a 68,500 sf, three-story medical office building was constructed. EMH&T traffic engineers designed access and circulation and a widening and extension of the roadway approach to the new facility.
Due to the almost immediate success of this new ambulatory care and MOB facility, Mount Carmel pushed up the timeline for the project’s second phase, a 500,000-square-foot, 210-bed inpatient hospital. At seven stories, the tower will include a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. The project also includes a second 120,000 sf medical office building. Additional professional services included a complete re-design of the project’s re-envisioned schematic design to incorporate the updates and an updated traffic study; floodplain work and a FEMA LOMR and additional construction administration for a stream relocation to accommodate the new buildings and professional services for relocation of an existing sanitary sewer main to accommodate construction of one of the parking garages.
