Micro Hospital Site
As the focus of healthcare delivery changes, so do the facilities that provide that care. A new trend in healthcare delivery is the microhospital. A microhospital is a facility that provides many of the services of a large hospital, but on a smaller scale. This hospital will have an emergency room, operating rooms, a small number of inpatient care rooms and examination rooms. Generally, these microhospitals range in size from 15,000 to 50,000 square feet and are community focused and located closer to people’s homes. A patient can visit such a facility to receive emergency care but also be admitted for an overnight stay if necessary. Working for Embree Asset Group, EMH&T provided complete site/civil design of a microhospital site located along State Road 135 located in Greenwood, Indiana. The scope of services included topographic survey, platting, entitlements, site utilities, grading, drainage, parking and loading facilities, bidding assistance and construction administration.
