In order to add video lottery terminals to existing simulcast and live thoroughbred racing at River Downs, Pinnacle Entertainment redeveloped the 125 acre property along the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati to be a racino and entertainment venue which they renamed Belterra Park. The existing one-mile dirt track and seven furlong turf track were relocated and existing grandstands, racebook building and a portion of the horse barns were demolished to accommodate the updated facility. A new racino building was constructed that included approximately 1,500 video lottery terminals, restaurants, and the River Downs Club. Additional horse barns and surface parking were also constructed.
EMH&T provided complete site/civil engineering services to Pinnacle Entertainment and Marnell Architecture. These services included site development, utilities, stormwater management, floodplain modeling and permitting, Infratechnologies, surveying, and traffic signal design.
