EMH&T provided land surveying, stormwater management and site civil engineering to upgrade the utility and roadway infrastructure as part of the revitalization of the American Addition neighborhood located in Columbus, Ohio. City of Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman made it his personal goal to revitalize the community neighborhood in partnership with Homeport/Columbus Housing Partnership. EMH&T was proud to play a vital part in this public-private partnership. Our engineers prepared utility and roadway plans to update the infrastructure for the entire neighborhood and provided recommendations for sustainable design. Over the next decade, a total of approximately 150 energy efficient homes are expected to be built within the neighborhood. The first phase of houses is currently under construction. The television show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, delivered awareness and recognition of American Addition to the masses when it aired a special on the neighborhood in late 2011.
