80 On The Commons
The last vacant lot overlooking Columbus Commons has been developed into a 12-story mixed-use building. The site is located at the southeast corner of the downtown park, which was built on the site of the former City Center Mall. This high-profile corner is now the location of 80 On The Commons. The $60 million building is similar in design to the 250 High building on the west side of Columbus Commons and features street-level retail beneath five stories of offices and six levels of residences, offering a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and penthouse units.
EMH&T worked with Kaufman Development, The Daimler Group, and NBBJ Architects, providing complete site/civil engineering and survey services, including civil engineering design related to the pedestrian bridge spanning Rich Street and connecting to the Columbus Commons parking garage. EMH&T’s significant familiarity with the site conditions, due to our key role in its redevelop, was important to the engineering for this site ranging from development of the demo plan for pavement and utilities to the creation of approval process materials.
