Ohio Dominican University, Battelle Hall
The $7.4 million, 2-story, 24,000 sq. ft. building, designated LEED Silver, was designed to feature state-of-the-art labs, research facilities and lounge areas, to modernize teaching/learning and instill innovative, analytical thinking skills. EMH&T landscape architects designed the Bioretention basin and raingardens as well as traditional landscape plantings surrounding this laboratory and classroom building. The close integration of stormwater design, landscape and architecture and our collaboration with university staff allowed us to prepare a landscape plan that highlights the architectural features of the new building, manages stormwater effectively, and is easy for ODU to maintain.
