City of Green Roundabout
EMH&T’s Landscape Architecture Division provided preliminary and final landscape architectural design for engineering of this roundabout slated for construction in 2021. The comprehensive landscape design included the roundabout center island, approaches, open areas, and the stormwater management wetland basin. The roundabout at the highly skewed intersection of Greensburg Road and South Arlington Road sits within a rural area of the City of Green. The design prepared by EMH&T frames the center island and signals its presence to drivers with the use of clusters of shade trees and swaths of large shrubs. The center island is visually prominent to drivers with the placement of an illuminated circular boulder structure and upward illuminated multi-stemmed trees. The landscape design of the stormwater wetland further complements the area’s rural character.
