Muskingum County, OH
EMH&T worked with Hilty, LLC, in order to conduct a Vegetation Index of Biotic Integrity (VIBI) as part of the required monitoring activities for the Shannon Valley Wetland Mitigation Bank which consists of approximately 70 acres of property. The VIBI is an intensive vegetation assessment required by the Ohio EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for all mitigation wetlands throughout the state of Ohio. It involves the collection of biological indicators (metrics) that reflect the condition of the mitigation wetland as compared to naturally occurring reference wetlands. Therefore, EMH&T determined the success of wetland development for the Shannon Valley Mitigation Bank by calculating the VIBI metrics.
