Hopedale Fractionation Facility - MarkWest
The MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. Fractionation Facility is a midstream facility that supports the MarkWest Harrison County Fractionator Complex. The site will have two operational rail yards by mid-2017. The first yard is connected to Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway (W&LE) and is designed to handle approximately 180 cars per day. EMH&T was tasked by MarkWest to assist in the site selection, conceptual site and rail design, railroad coordination, environmental permitting, bid document preparation, material procurement, and construction observation. Over 2.5 million yards of earth was moved for the rail yard alone with an additional million yards for the processing plant. EMH&T incorporated phased construction into the design to minimize impacts once the facility became operational. The other yard is connected to the Ohio Central railroad and is currently being constructed. Again, EMH&T has been involved from the site selection phase through construction. We assisted MarkWest in obtaining isolated, nationwide, and individual permits throughout the rail and processing plant site. EMH&T has prepared plans for grading and drainage, track plans, water and sanitary systems, spill and secondary containment, stormwater design, and erosion and sediment controls.
