The Ohio State University Substation at Cannon and John Herrick Drive
As a component of the improvements to Cannon Drive, the grade of Cannon Drive was raised to accommodate a 500 year flood protection level for the medical campus. This increase in flood protection provides assurance to the Ohio State University to continue to invest in the long-term planning for the Medical Campus expansion. To meet the long term plan, the roadway was shifted and raised to create new development space. As a result, multiple electrical distribution line modifications were necessary. EMH&T performed surveying and researched existing easements to define new access points and assist the Ohio State University and American Electric Power in final easement boundaries that coincided with the infrastructure improvements planned for Cannon Drive. In addition, grading and access modifications were necessary to the existing substation.
