Pharmaforce Site - 19th Century Tannery
New Albany, OH
When a major pharmaceutical company acquired a site in New Albany for the construction of a new manufacturing facility, unbeknownst to them, the site was once the location of a short lived rural tannery that dated to the mid-19th century. EMH&T was able to find evidence of the tannery building as well as some of the domestic buildings on site including a well and foundation for a smokehouse. After the conclusions of the archaeological studies, the pharmaceutical facility was then built on the site.
