Mason Grand Development
A development firm proposed to construct a 294 unit apartment complex and clubhouse on this 69 acre site in the City of Mason, Ohio. The site was formerly owned by the King family who also owned the land and served as the namesake for the nearby Kings Island amusement park. The King family formerly owned the King Powder Company and Peters Cartridge Company which were among the nation’s leaders in gunpowder and ammunition manufacturing during the late 1800s-early 1900s and was Warren County’s largest employer. Because of the poor condition the King family structures on site were unable to be saved. Instead, the developer was able to assist in the ongoing renovations for the Ahimazz King property that are being undertaken by the Deerfield Township Parks Department. Since the Ahimazz King property is located within a township park, it is available to the public.
