LUC-475 Utility Bridge for AT&T
Toledo, OH
EMHT provided design, construction management and resident project representation for a narrow bridge to carry a bank of AT&T fiber optic conduits across Interstate 475 in Toledo, Ohio. The structure consists of a 192-foot, two-span concrete I-beam bridge with a 7-foot clear dimension between railings. The abutments were designed as semi-integral, founded on piles, while the pier is a single column design supported by a drilled shaft. In consideration of potential future uses of the structure, EMH&T designed it to accommodate loads typically associated with bikeways, as well as that of the conduits.
