Architects
The civil engineers and landscape architects of EMH&T work collaboratively with our Architectural clients to expand the design vision of the building into the surrounding site. With our keen understanding of site development and zoning compliance, our engineers, planners, landscape architects, environmental scientists and land surveyors can serve as an extension of the architectural design team. EMH&T works with architectural firms of all sizes. We employ a client service philosophy that assigns project teams with specific experience developing clear and concise contract documents, accurate cost estimating and construction administration. We can provide site design services for pre-planning information, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration including punchlists and as-built surveys. We maintain a single-point contact service plan, which results in the personal attention of a small firm, backed by the comprehensive resources of a full-service site design consulting firm.
Our site development portfolio includes Retail, Office and Distribution, Mixed-Use, and Institutional, which includes educational (both higher education and K-12) and healthcare.
In an effort to provide continuing education opportunities to our architectural partners, EMH&T is an approved member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems (CES) Registered Provider Program. As an approved AIA/CES Provider, EMH&T can present one-on-one “Lunch and Learn” sessions to clients at their individual offices, through which AIA members will earn continuing education credits. The current seminar Creating Green Sites for Green Buildings is a Sustainable Site Design Seminar focusing on storm water management in site design. Future seminars will focus on sustainable design issues such as wetland design and gray water recycling as well as other development issues.
EMH&T will also provide AIA registered programs at our offices every few months. Our current clients will be notified in advance of these seminars. Anyone interested in scheduling a workshop should contact Chris Fleming, PE, LEED AP, at (614) 775-4370 or Cindy Nemeth at (614) 775-4034.
EMH&T is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. EMH&T is experienced in USGBC’s Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Our firm has several LEED Accredited Professionals who have completed and are currently working on multiple LEED Certified projects. EMH&T has also completed projects using the Sustainable Project Rating Tool (SPiRiT) system used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
As both the technological and political climates have changed, the use of alternative and environmentally sensitive methods of development has become critical to the success of projects. EMH&T has immersed itself in the newest “green” technologies, and is poised to provide its clients with a holistic approach to the site design and development, promoting a seamless and dynamic interaction between key design professionals throughout the process from “Big Idea” to construction detailing. As part of this unique design approach to a more sustainable development, EMH&T has created an internal task force to explore and develop a green initiative.
