ODNR – Floodplain Management GIS

Ohio

EMH&T is providing the Ohio Department of Natural Resources services to streamline a variety of flood hazard management documents through scanning and spatially linking information that is currently in a multitude of formats. Over 9,500 documents were scanned and indexed including documents for point source elevations, stream profiles, flood hazard reports, and community floodplain regulations. Attributes such as address, descriptions, ID codes and dates were then assigned accordingly to create a Geographic Information Management System for the NFIP. The finalization of this project will complete portions of the Department’s Floodplain Geographic Information Management System (FPGIMS), which is used to monitor and solve specific flood related problems.
