WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER (EIT)
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of a seasoned Water Resources engineer or Project Manager, carry out specific and detailed instructions on simple to moderately complex hydraulic and hydrologic calculations primarily as part of stormwater improvement studies and runoff plans, preliminary design studies, floodplain studies, or watershed planning and environmental-based studies. Provide design support, research studies and planning documents related to various stormwater and floodplain management projects in conjunction with private site development and public infrastructure improvements. Actively become involved with the completion of stormwater management reports, including the analysis and design of detention and post-construction water quality facilities in accordance with local and state-wide regulatory guidelines. Will also be involved with assisting in the preparation of floodplain permit applications, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and FEMA map change applications. Incumbent will learn to perform basic engineering calculations, use of Pondpack, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM or similar software for conducting water resources calculations, and will use AutoCAD to begin to demonstrate design solutions.



ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Job Responsibilities
This position supports the Development division; providing general administrative support as assigned to facilitate efficient and effective business operations for the Director, as well as, multiple leaders and project managers within this group. Responsible for providing analytical and systematic support with information gathered from project managers, staff members and meetings. Gather ancillary and preparation of internal division information for proposal and submittal purposes. Support with the initial and on-going lifecycle of projects while maintaining corporate processes and procedures (i.e. create and maintain records on work in progress, update director on deadlines, work submissions, internal and external correspondences, miscellaneous deliverables, and archiving). Assistance with follow up of multiple staff members on deadline commitments for reports, timesheets, and other requested information. Proofread documents before submission, mapping and final plat submissions complete for final approval. Additional administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to; arranging meetings, conferences, handling RSVPs and set up. Maintain contacts updated in Vision, PDHs



ENGINEER INTERN (EIT) - NC
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of a seasoned PM, receives specific and detailed instructions for required tasks and results expected. Creates drawings and makes basic calculations on assigned portions of multiple projects. Performs basic engineering calculations and uses AutoCAD to begin to apply engineering education to practical design solutions.



SENIOR ENGINEER - NC
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
This key site civil design position in the Charlotte division of EMH&T has responsibilities for performing a lead role for all aspects of project design, layout, calculations, and subsequent plan preparation, plan reviews and modification, including coordination and concurrence functions with public regulatory agencies and utility companies. This position will also be engaged in basic water resources design in support of site development projects. Perform QC/QA design review on complex and non-complex design projects, direct and review the work tasks assigned to others to ensure quality design work products are delivered to clients. This position may serve as a client liaison, coordinating project schedules, problem solutions, budgets and quality work products. Written work products must have order, clarity, and conciseness.



SURVEYOR - NC
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
Primary responsibility for the planning and completion of multiple survey projects and production of survey documents by incumbent or survey technician that meet client scope, standards, and deadline. Provide estimations of, personnel hours and materials needed to prepare bid proposals and assist in establishing completion dates. Preparation of construction staking plans, ALTA surveys, as-built surveys, mortgage surveys, etc. Works collaboratively with clients and engineering staff on specifications and modifications as project is underway. May engage in problem solving with municipal or utility companies in order to move a project forward.



SURVEY INSTRUMENT OPERATOR - NC
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Crew Chief, support the land survey process by physically assisting with the acquisition of survey data points and construction layout. Duties involve obtaining land survey data, such as angles, elevations, points, and contours using Trimble Robotic & GPS equipment. May compile notes and records of survey data obtained and work performed. Occasional overnight travel may be requested with a per diem allowance. May be asked to assist with other physical efforts required to complete a land survey at the development site.



CAD TECHNICIAN - URBAN DESIGN
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of a project manager, this position will provide drafting support for civil development projects from start to finish. Various tasks include preparation of concept layouts, plan and profile drawings, details, utility plans, roadway plans, etc. in accordance with local zoning standards and internal drafting standards. Typical projects range from public roadway projects to commercial and residential sites.



GIS APPLICATION DEVELOPER
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
The Application Developer is a key contributor to the creation of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) for clients of EMH&Tís Geospatial Solutions division. The incumbent will have responsibility for GIS application developments using primarily ESRI technology. The applications and/or enhancements are either desktop-based or web-based configurations. In addition to design, this position will also troubleshoot and correct reported problems with software or program. The Developer will be engaged in the development and implementation of system specifications, design, integration, testing, and documentation based on client need and ensures compliance with quality standards established. The Developer will interact with current and prospective clients, providing information and explanations about business advantages, functionality, and optimization as it relates to the clientís current and future business needs.



ENGINEER
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
This design and technical position within EMH&Tís Public Works Division provides engineering and technical project support for a variety of public infrastructure improvement projects with a focus on the following municipal services: infrastructure assessment, evaluation and rehabilitation; pavement assessment and maintenance; sewer assessment and design; pump station design; roadway reconstruction and drainage design; and general preliminary engineering studies and reports. This position will serve as a key technical lead within the Public Works Division reporting to a senior level Project Manager. This individual will be responsible for planning and organizing workflow, provide technical oversight of various components of project design, prepare design calculations and subsequent plan details and specifications, as well as assist with plan reviews and modifications. In addition, the successful candidate will assist with client management and various marketing tasks including the preparation of competitive proposals.



ENGINEER INTERN (EIT)
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
This entry level, full time engineer position is a part of the design team in the Public Works division and has a primary responsibility for assisting with projects by providing AutoCAD drafting and engineering design activities based on level of experience and ability. Project work is typically in public infrastructure design for redevelopment and involves design of sanitary collection systems, sewer systems, storm water, private utility designs, water distribution systems, interceptor sewers and/or transmission mains, but can include design support with roadway redesign and redevelopment footprints. May be asked to provide support with project proposals, such as preparation of exhibits. Will be directed on incorporating municipal plan practices or standards or EMH&T standards to meet the clientís needs.



SENIOR TECHNICIAN (CAD)

ENGINEER - RAILROAD DESIGN
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
This key position in the Rail division has responsibilities in assisting with all aspects of planning and organizing workflow, conducting all aspects of rail project design, layout, calculations and subsequent plan preparation, plan reviews and modification, including coordination and concurrence functions with railroad and public regulatory agencies and utility companies. Perform QC/QA design review on complex and non-complex design tasks to ensure quality products are delivered to clients. Prepare engineering documents and reports, such as Preliminary Engineering Studies, detail design reports, bid packages and tabulations, probable construction cost estimates, etc.



ENGINEER/DESIGNER - TRAFFIC
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
This engineering/design position is a part of the Traffic team and has primary responsibility for traffic design including Traffic Control, Traffic Signals and Signal Systems, Highway and Site Lighting and Maintenance of Traffic During Construction. The incumbent may also prepare Impact Studies, Safety Studies, Interchange Justification/Modification Studies, Signal Warrant Studies, Parking Studies, Pedestrian and Bikeway Planning, and Corridor Analysis including signal system timing and assessment. The successful candidate must prepare plans, specifications and estimates for traffic engineering improvements and prepare written reports and orally present results and recommendations. The engineer/designer may be asked to provide support with project proposals, including statements of qualifications, scope of services and fee proposals. The engineer/designer may be asked to develop, review, assess and incorporate varied jurisdictional standards and policy requirements depending on project location and client needs. The engineer/designer will plan, organize, direct and participate in data collection including traffic and parking counts, research of local, state, and federal regulations,
