PROJECT MANAGER (SITE/CIVIL)

Job Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for interpreting, planning and executing engineering projects. This includes definition of scope, development of design concepts, estimating costs, coordination and management of work and performance of staff assigned to project, and capturing and communicating project plan changes, reviewing invoices and conducting project QA/QC reviews. This position must serve as a client liaison, coordinating project schedules, problem solutions, budgets and quality work products. Written work products must have order, clarity, and conciseness.



ENGINEERING OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR (CHARLOTTE)
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
The Office Administrator works directly for the office General Manager and is responsible for handling a wide variety of project-driven tasks for the entire office to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the project managers and office professionals. This includes such duties as drafting project proposals, gathering appropriate language, exhibits, and other publicly-available data needed for proposals, and coordinating modification to contracts as required. Maintain the project proposal database, securing and tracking signed proposals, facilitating invoicing processes by working closely with the project managers, and preparing financial and project tracking reports for review by management. The incumbent will direct the work processes of an Administrative Assistant who is a direct report.



PROJECT ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
This position reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for reviewing EMH&T client draft invoices for clarity and accuracy. Also analyzes project performance before providing draft invoices to the Billings Coordinator. Records invoice disposition, billed amount and project notes from project managers in accounting software. Assists Senior VP in communicating to project managers the project performance issues as noted in billing cycle reports. Interacts with project managers to collect responses related to invoicing and performs data-entry to capture project manager updates which will appear on new reports.



ENGINEER INTERN (EIT) - URBAN DESIGN
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
As a part of the Urban Design group and under the direction of a seasoned Project Manager; this entry level EIT will receive specific and detailed instructions for required tasks and expected results to support the implementation of a diverse group of projects. Responsible for the creation of CAD and Civil 3D drawings, making basic calculations on assigned portions of these projects, while performing basic engineering calculations to apply engineering education to practical design solutions. EMH&Tís Urban Design team consists of projects that ranging from campus infrastructure rehabilitation to private-public partnership developments to design of infrastructure to support new energy ventures. This involves a spectrum of utility infrastructure from water, wastewater, system utilities and storm sewer rehabilitation to private utility design and pipeline extensions. Specific civil development includes; Infrastructure Assessment and Renewal, Demolition Planning, Campus Planning and Design, Energy and System Planning and Design and Public Private Partnership and Specialized Funding.



CAD TECHNICIAN - URBAN DESIGN
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of a project manager, this position will provide drafting support for civil development projects from start to finish. Various tasks include preparation of concept layouts, plan and profile drawings, details, utility plans, roadway plans, etc. in accordance with local zoning standards and internal drafting standards. Typical projects range from public roadway projects to commercial and residential sites.



DESIGNER / ENGINEER (NC)
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
This key site civil design position works with the senior project manager to provide design support for private development projects, creating project designs from start to finish, including Civil 3D conceptual plans, master planning, drainage analysis, surface preparations, incorporating line work and contour drawings from survey data points. The incumbent will develop plan and profile drawings and details, such as building placement, grading, utility plans, storm sewers, roadways, required easements, access drives, paring and more in accordance with local zoning standards and internal EMH&T drafting standards.



SURVEY INSTRUMENT OPERATOR ( NC)
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Crew Chief, support the land survey process by physically assisting with the acquisition of survey data points and construction layout. Duties involve obtaining land survey data, such as angles, elevations, points, and contours using Trimble Robotic & GPS equipment. May compile notes and records of survey data obtained and work performed. Occasional overnight travel may be requested with a per diem allowance. May be asked to assist with other physical efforts required to complete a land survey at the development site.



CAD TECHNICIAN - SITE/CIVIL
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the project manager, this position transforms initial rough designs using computer aided design (CAD) drafting into working documents. Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications, EMH&T standards, and client needs.



SENIOR SURVEY TECHNICIAN (NC)
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Professional Surveyor, this candidate will be responsible for transforming and preparing initial designs into working documents using AutoCAD. Other tasks will be performed and assigned including CAD designs for topographic, ALTA and boundary surveys. Work will include but is not limited to; condominium and subdivision plats, lot splits, easement descriptions, and terrain modeling.



SURVEYOR (NC)
CHARLOTTE, NC

Job Responsibilities
Primary responsibility for the planning and completion of multiple survey projects and production of survey documents by incumbent or survey technician that meet client scope, standards, and deadline. Provide estimations of, personnel hours and materials needed to prepare bid proposals and assist in establishing completion dates. Preparation of construction staking plans, ALTA surveys, as-built surveys, mortgage surveys, etc. Works collaboratively with clients and engineering staff on specifications and modifications as project is underway. May engage in problem solving with municipal or utility companies in order to move a project forward.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
COLUMBUS, OH

Job Responsibilities
This position supports the Development division; providing general administrative support as assigned to facilitate efficient and effective business operations for the Director, as well as, multiple leaders and project managers within this group. Responsible for providing analytical and systematic support with information gathered from project managers, staff members and meetings. Gather ancillary and preparation of internal division information for proposal and submittal purposes. Support with the initial and on-going lifecycle of projects while maintaining corporate processes and procedures (i.e. create and maintain records on work in progress, update director on deadlines, work submissions, internal and external correspondences, miscellaneous deliverables, and archiving). Assistance with follow up of multiple staff members on deadline commitments for reports, timesheets, and other requested information. This key position in the Rail division has responsibilities in assisting with all aspects of planning and organizing workflow, conducting all aspects of rail project design, layout, calculations and subsequent plan preparation, plan reviews and modification, including coordination and concurrence functions with railroad and public regulatory agencies and utility companies. Perform QC/QA design review on complex and non-complex design tasks to ensure quality products are delivered to clients. Prepare engineering documents and reports, such as Preliminary Engineering Studies, detail design reports, bid packages and tabulations, probable construction cost estimates, etc.
