Bridge Engineer
Columbus, Ohio

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the manager, the Structures Section requires a bridge design engineer, reviewer and checker particularly on complex design tasks. The employee will design ODOT Level 1 and Level 2 bridge structures, perform bridge inspections, and prepare designs for miscellaneous structures. Duties may also include bridge type studies and associated written documentation and reports to support recommendations. Responsibilities include all aspects of project design calculations and subsequent plan preparation, plan reviews and modification, including QA/QC activities, as well as coordination and concurrence functions with clients, public regulatory agencies and utility companies.



Transportation Engineer
Columbus, Ohio

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the manager, the Roadway Section requires a roadway engineer to perform design, review and checking particularly on complex and non-complex design tasks. This roadway design engineer will develop into a project manager as well as help with QA/QC on various projects as support to other team members. The role of reviewer and checker particularly on complex design tasks is a key function to ensure quality products. Responsibilities include all aspects of project design calculations and subsequent plan preparation, plan reviews and modification, including QA/QC activities, as well as coordination and concurrence functions with public regulatory agencies and utility companies. Another aspect to this vacant position will be to prepare engineering documents and reports such as Preliminary Engineering Studies, life cycle cost comparisons, detail design reports, design exceptions, probable construction cost estimates, etc.. These capabilities may not be a pre-requisite for the position; however this individual should demonstrate interest, talent and capabilities to generate written engineering documents and reports.
