In his career he has discovered a 700 year old camp site with nearly intact archaeological deposits. To find an archaeological site that has not been plowed at one time or another is extremely rare in this area of Ohio. The greatest thrill he has experienced is the excavation of prehistoric artifacts that have not been touched by human hands for nearly a millenium. A career high for Joel was drafting a Memorandum of Agreement for an early 19th century tavern that has been used as an example in training courses by a state agency. For down time he enjoys collecting antiques, outdoor pursuits and gardening.
